About the Vilasi Project

Bella Clinton and Matt Wisotsky first met in Vienna, performing together in a chamber ensemble as part of the IES Vienna Music Program. Years later, they reconnected in Madison and quickly discovered a shared drive to keep creating and exploring music together, sparking the formation of The Vilasi Project. The name “Vilasi,” meaning “luxurious” in Nepali, pays tribute to Bella’s family’s work in Nepal and reflects a commitment to richness in sound, spirit, and generosity. It also honors her mother’s ensemble, The Vilasi Quartet, continuing a legacy of creating music.Blending Matt’s versatility on bassoon, flute, and saxophone with Bella’s harp, the duo thrives on unexpected instrumental pairings.
